Things To Do In Puerto Princesa, Palawan

From wildlife reserves to pristine beaches, the city offers a myriad of picturesque sights and breathtaking activities to its visitors and tourist. With its wealth in beautiful sights and natural
attractions, it is no surprise that the city of Puerto Princesa has been named as one the top destinations in the Philippines.

As a tourist, there are an awful lot of things you can do and sights to enjoy in Puerto Princesa. If you are traveling to this green, lush and peaceful city for the first time, make sure to consider these tips and pointers:

Take a city tour
A giant croc
A trip to the city of Puerto Princesa is best kicked off with a tour around the city. Obviously, a city tour would take you to the city’s most famous and celebrated attractions, including the Crocodile Farm, Baker’s hill, Mitra’s Ranch, Butterfly garden, Plaza Cuartel and many more. In most cases, a tour around the city’s finest attractions would consume a day or less.

For the city tour, travel operators would usually charge tourist with a price of Php 600 per person. You can, however, save a lot of money from your city tour by taking a tour from a tricycle. In our case, our city tour via a tricycle only cost us Php 300 per person. 








Enjoy the city’s exotic treats
Savor the city’s exotic delicacies, such as the tamilok (wood worms), adobong ostrich and of course, crocodile meat.

Honda bay tour
Explore the shores of Palawan by taking a Honda bay tour. With a Honda bay tour, you will get a chance to sunbathe, snorkel, and swim on several beaches including the Marufinas, Panaguran, Napsan, and Nagtabon beaches.  

Visit the Puerto Princesa Underground River
Hop on a wooden paddleboat, and explore the Puerto Princesa Underground River, which happens to be one of the new Seven Wonders of the World and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. An hour journey through the river’s caves will give you a glimpse of the site’s awe-inspiring rock formations and stunning stalactites.

Ziplining or caving at Ugong Rock
For a heavy dose of fun and adventure in Puerto Princesa, head off to Ugong Rock, and ride the fastest zipline in the whole Philippines. Aside from zipline rides, Ugong Rock also offers caving adventures to its visitors.


Unlike the other tourist destinations in the country, there is no way you can fit your getaway or holiday vacation in Puerto Princesa in just a couple of days. If you want to make the most out of your trip to this destination, you should stay in Puerto Princesa for at least three days. In our case, we stayed in Puerto Princesa for four days.
